You would think that windshield wipers are all the same right? So did we, until we had a JDM Toyota Hiace that wouldn’t take your regular old wiper blades. The clip mounting on the end of the actual wiper arm was different than you would normally see. There was no way to securely clip a new (at least regular US style) wiper blade into place.
We looked pretty stupid going to all the parts stores in town asking them for an adapter, the typical response we got was ‘it should just work’.
After some poking around on the interwebs we came across this, and found it was a great fit for our application on the Hiace. If you find yourself in a similar situation, check and see if this part might fix your wiper blade mount on your own car; it seems like it will apply to several makes and models that don’t have the typical slide in adapter found on most US cars.
